SUSTAINABILITY — サステナビリティ
Sewing forthe long run.
Environmental management has been certified since 2013: KES first grade, then ISO 14001.
The ordinary, done for the planet too.
Energy Shift
エネルギー転換Converting the fabric mill’s boilers from coal to natural gas cut CO₂ emissions by roughly 70%, one of the first such changes at any fabric mill in ASEAN.
Water Cycle
水の循環Dyeing uses as little water as possible. What we draw is purified on site before it returns clean to the river.
Zero-Waste Design
廃棄ゼロ設計Offcuts and unwanted garments are regenerated into recycled yarn and knitted into new fabric, rather than sent to landfill.
Ocean Plastic
海洋プラ再生Recovered ocean-plastic waste is recycled into Umi Pet fibre: performance cloth that takes pressure off the sea.
A record of certifications, and the commitments still ahead.
KES Environment System — 1st Grade
Thai Parfun is certified 1st grade under Japan’s KES (Kyoto Environmental Management System) standard, our first formal environmental certification.
Quality Management
ISO 9001 quality-management certification extends the same discipline from the sewing floor to the systems that stand behind it: the groundwork for the environmental system that follows.
ISO 14001
ISO 14001 environmental management system certification is added, formalising the reductions already under way at the mill and the factory.
The next commitments
Specific targets for energy, water and waste are being finalised with management. This page will be updated as each commitment is confirmed.
The commitment starts in the fibre.
Hemp, ocean plastic, organic cotton, washable silk and reborn cotton: five material families built to carry these commitments forward.
