HISTORY — 沿革

Seven decades,one thread.

From a single ladies’ innerwear workshop in Osaka to a vertically integrated factory in Samut Sakhon: the record of how Thai Parfun came to be, year by year.

021956–2001 · Origins in Osaka

Origins in Osaka

Parfun was founded in Osaka in 1956 by Kaoru Fujii. “Kaoru”, a pleasant fragrance and parfum in French, became the company’s name, and ladies’ innerwear its lifelong craft.

For the next four and a half decades the company grew as an OEM manufacturer for the Japanese market, refining the two disciplines that still define it today: features engineered as carefully as appearance.

  • 1956 — Kaoru Fujii founds Parfun in Osaka and takes up ladies’ innerwear OEM manufacturing.

To Thailand

In 2002 the group opened its first overseas production base: Thai Parfun Co., Ltd., built at the 304 Industrial Estate in Prachinburi province as a strategic point for global manufacturing.

Operations began the following year, and Thailand joined Osaka as the second thread in the same cloth.

  • 2003 — Operations commence at the Prachinburi factory.

Growth in Samut Sakhon

As Thai production grew, the group moved closer to its supply chain and the port: a new factory, Sai 4, opened its doors in Samut Sakhon province in 2010.

The move set a pattern the company still follows: fabric, dyeing and sewing gathered close together, so quality can be watched at every hand-off.

  • 2010 — The Sai 4 factory begins operations in Samut Sakhon province.

The group at full stretch

The busiest years of expansion: Thai Parfun founded Myanmar Parfun Co., Ltd. as a wholly owned subsidiary, which began operating the same year, and the group’s environmental management earned KES first grade.

Staff numbers reached roughly 1,500, and the company’s first trilingual website, in Thai, Japanese and English, carried the Parfun story further than Osaka or Samut Sakhon alone.

  • 2013 — Myanmar Parfun Co., Ltd. is founded as a wholly owned subsidiary and begins operations the same year.
  • 2013 — The group achieves KES Environmental System 1st grade; the trilingual company website launches.
062021– · Consolidation & quality

Consolidation & quality

The group brought its Thai operations back under one roof: the head office and factory now stand together at Thasai, Samut Sakhon, and ISO 14001 certification followed in 2023.

Today around 860 people knit, dye, cut and sew roughly 880,000 pieces a month, led by President & CEO Hidekazu Fujii and Vice President Shotaro Matsubara. It is the same care Kaoru Fujii began with in 1956, at a larger scale.

  • 2023 — ISO 14001 environmental management certification is achieved.
  • 2025 — Around 860 staff and roughly 880,000 pieces a month, under one consolidated head office & factory.
